Susie Rice

Susie Rice, age 66 of Manchester, passed away Saturday at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky. She was born May 23, 1946 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Boyd L. and Lucy C. Collins Smith. She worked with the Senior Citizens Meals on Wheels.

She is survived by her children: James Lee Smith of Goose Rock, Kentucky and Marianna Smith of Manchester, Kentucky, 2 grandchildren: Brianna Sue Smith and Alanna Leigh Smith, her mother: Lucy Smith of Manchester, and these brothers and sisters: Demoree Smith of Indiana, Clifford Smith of Burning Springs, Ella Mae Smith of Manchester, June Wombles of Burning Springs, Velva Henson of Indiana, Doshia Smith of London, Mary Faye Mills of Garrard, and Betty Dobbs of Burning Springs.

She is preceded in death by her father: Boyd Smith, her son: Richard Jonathan Gray, and 3 brothers: Paul Smith, Andy Smith, and Dewey Smith.

Funeral Services for Susie Rice will be conducted on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 2 PM at the Antioch Baptist Church. Rev. David Dail will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery in the Burning Springs Community.

Visitation will be Monday, July 23, after 6PM at Antioch Baptist Church.
