Parkie Russell

Mr. Parkie Russell, age 91 of Manchester, Kentucky passed away Saturday, May 16th, 2009 at the Saint Joseph Hospital in London. He was born July 12th, 1917 in Owsley County, Kentucky to the union of Pleas & Lottie Smith Russell. He was a farmer, a former custodian at the Laurel Creek Elementary School, a member of the Pleasant Point Baptist Church, & a member of the Masonic Lodge.

He is survived by his children: Helen Sandlin & her husband Wesley of McKee, Kentucky, Owen Russell & his wife Pam of Virginia, Bobby Russell & his wife Ethel of Norwood, Ohio, Parkie Russell, Jr. & his wife Debbie of Tyner, Kentucky, & Hassie Russell of McKee, Kentucky. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, 1 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, & these sisters & brother: Minnie Moore of Annville, Kentucky, Coy Moore of Manchester, Kentucky, & Mae Anglin of Walton, Kentucky.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Pleas & Lottie Russell, his wife: Edith Rebecca Russell, & several brothers & sisters.

Funeral Services for Mr. Parkie Russell will be Monday, May 18th, 2009 at 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charlie Goodman will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Wilson Cemetery in the Burning Springs Community.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 17th, after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
