Owen Wayne Byrd

Owen Wayne Byrd, age 73 departed this life on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at his home.  He was born on Monday, October 23, 1950 in Oneida, Kentucky to Owen and Bitha Sawyers Byrd.  He was a retired school bus driver for the Clay County Board of Education.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Mary Stewart Byrd, his children: Larry (Melissa) Byrd, Tim Byrd and CJ Byrd, his grandchildren: Ashley (Steven) Davidson, Andrew (Kristina) Byrd, Travis (Tori) Byrd, Bessie (Ozzy) Sizemore, Jacob Byrd (Kinsey Smith), Haylee Byrd (Jacob Smith), Conley Jay Byrd and Whitney Byrd.  Also surviving are 16 and one on the way great grandchildren, his sister: Delores Smith and an abundance of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Owen and Bitha Byrd, his brothers: Conley Byrd, Jack Sams and J. T. Byrd and his sisters: Imagene Smith, Kathleen Smith, Mary Henderson and Dorothy Mae Buckhart.

Funeral Services for Owen Wayne Byrd will be conducted on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Shelby Deaton and Rev. Henry Lloyd Deaton will be presiding.  Burial will follow in the Byrd-Sawyers Cemetery in the Reed Branch Community.

The family will receive friends and loved ones on Tuesday from 6 PM until 9 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
