Mr. Willie Sizemore

Mr. Willie Sizemore, age 83 of Manchester, passed away Friday, July 17th, 2009 at the Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was born June 19th, 1926 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Walter & Lula Baker Sizemore. He was a member of the Manchester Baptist Church, a veteran of the US Army where he served in World War II in the Philippine Islands. He was a member of the Board of Cumberland River Community Mental Health, a Kentucky Colonel, a member of the Masonic Lodge, & retired Superintendent of Clay County Schools.

He is survived by his son: Larry Sizemore & wife Dorothy of Manchester, his daughter: Karen Edens & husband Bill of Lexington, 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, special caregivers: Janice Bowling, Marsha Elliott, Isabel Smith, Robin Pennington, & Stella Davidson. He had a special fondness for all of his nieces & nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Walter & Lula Sizemore, his wife: Lorene Sizemore, his son: Winfred Gerald Sizemore, 2 half brothers: Autho Sizemore & Orel Hundley, 2 half sisters: Martha Pearl Moss & Pearl Hundley, 2 sisters: Della Combs & Daly Hacker.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Manchester Baptist Church Building Fund.

Funeral Services for Mr. Willie Sizemore will be Sunday, July 19th, at 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ken Bolin will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 18th, after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

Rominger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
