Mrs. Myrtus Horton, age 56 of McKee, Kentucky passed away Thursday, June 6, 2012 at her home. She was born March 16, 1956 in Manchester, Kentucky to the union of Raleigh and Mary Byrd Bray. She was a homemaker and a member of the Ell’s Branch Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children: Melinda McDaniel and her significant other: Carl Smith of Manchester, Polly Grubb and her significant other: Mike Johnson of Jamestown, Tennessee, Timothy Morris of Frankfort, Kentucky, Dennie Lee Morris of Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Raleigh Peters and her husband Jody of Jackson County, Kentucky. Also surviving is her father: Raleigh Bray of Burning Springs, Kentucky, a special friend: Ricky Horton, 9 grandchildren, and these brothers and sisters: Alvin Bray and wife Georgia of Burning Springs, Kathleen Lewis and her husband: George of Burning Springs, Mae Hill and her husband Eddie of Burning Springs, Calvin Bray and his wife: Loretta “Tootie” of Jackson County, Kentucky, and Melvin Bray and his wife: Gracie of Burning Springs.

She is preceded in death by her mother: Mary Byrd Bray, her brother: David “Buck” Bray, her sister: Geraldine Horton, and her husband: Bobby Horton.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to help with the funeral expense.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Myrtus Horton will be conducted on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tim Ball will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Bray Cemetery in the Bray Creek Community.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 9, from 6 PM until 9 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

Rominger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
