Mrs. Maudie Shepherd

Mrs. Maudie Shepherd, age 100 of Island Creek, departed this life on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at her home. She was born on Wednesday, May 3, 1916 in Hazard, KY to the union of Robert and Jane (Campbell) Collins. She was a homemaker and a member of the Island Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

She leaves to mourn her passing her children: Sylvia Gibson, Betty Owens, Jerry Shepherd, June Shepherd and Nicky Shepherd. Also surviving are these grandchildren: Diane, Sharon, Jerrie, Randy, Tammy, Becky, Jeremy, Jennifer, Heather, Carrie, Brad, Ann Marie, Steven, James, Rebecca, Jimmy Todd, Raleigh, and Whitney; 28 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; and her caregivers: Clara Sturgill, Dora Lee Hacker, Faye Hicks, and Wanda Jones.

She is preceded in death her husband: Raleigh Shepherd; her parents: Robert and Jane Collins and these children: Gene Shepherd, Martha Sexton, and Jimmy Shepherd and 1 great grandson: Kyle David Frazier.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Maudie Shepherd will be conducted on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at 11 AM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. William Hugh Hudson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Shepherd Cemetery in the Island Creek Community.

Visitation will be Friday evening after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
