Mrs. Mary Fortner, age 59 of Manchester, passed away Tuesday, October 4th, 2011 at her home. She was born November 18th, 1951 in Oneida, Kentucky to the union of Tom and Etta Gibson Hooker.

She is survived by her husband: Bill Fortner of Manchester, her daughter: Vickie Renee Shepherd of Manchester, her son: Col. Robert Young, Jr. of London, and 2 grandchildren: Baileigh Alexis Shepherd and Bobby Russell Jones. Also surviving are these brothers and sisters: Vernon Hooker of Manchester, Oakley Hooker of Crab Orchard, Ruth Kurtz of Manchester, and Martha R. Hendren of Louisville.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Tom and Etta Hooker, her brother: Calvin Hooker, her nephew: James William Thomas Young, her nephew: Michael Joseph Hendren, and her brother-in-law: Michael D. Hendren.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Mary Hooker Fortner will be Saturday, October 8th, 2011 at 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Herbert Minton, Rev. Youel Napier, and Ronnie Gibson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Hooker Cemetery in the Blue Hole Community.

Visitation will be Friday, October 7th, from 4 PM until 9 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

Rominger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
