Mrs. Georgia Ellen Deaton, age 83 departed this life on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at the Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly in London, Kentucky. She was born on Sunday, February 21, 1932 in Burning Springs to the union of the late Robert and Amanda Wilson Murray. She was a homemaker and a member of the Burning Springs Church of God.
She leaves to mourn her passing her children: Russell Deaton of Manchester, Roger Deaton and Carol of Bradfordsville, Kentucky, Anita Mosley and Alex of Lexington, Kentucky, Regina Smith and John of London, Kentucky, Brenda Steward of Lexington, Kentucky, and Connie Lunsford and Jeff of London, Kentucky. She was blessed to have many wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren who were the joys of her heart. Also surviving are her sisters: Vida Thompson of Manchester and Bobbie Colwell of Scottsburg, Indiana.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother: Robert and Amanda Murray, her husband: Granville Pearl Deaton, her daughter: Mary Hampton, her son-in-law: Anson Steward, her daughter-in-law: Jackie Deaton, and her grandson: Chase Lunsford. Also preceding her in death were these brothers and sisters: Dallas Murray, Sam Murray, Arthur Murray, Hobart Murray, William Murray, Maxie Combs, Mary Rice, Elva Buttrey, and Zola Fields.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Georgia Ellen Deaton will be conducted on Friday, August 7 at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Chris Fields will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Hacker Cemetery in the Gray Fork Community.
Visitation will be Friday after 11 AM until the funeral hour at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
