Mrs. Edna Ball, age 91 of Ball Road in Manchester, passed away Wednesday, July 7th, 2010 at her home. She was born February 19th, 1919 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Cam and Callie Lynch Byrd. She was a homemaker, a member of Liberty United Baptist Church since 1933 and made her home church at Ell’s Branch Baptist Church for 75 years. She was a member of the Martha Clark Eastern Star 201 for over 53 years.

She is survived by these children: Emily Grubb Whitsell of Gray Hawk, Kentucky, Edith Caudill of Holiday, Florida, Rosa Heuser of Hudson, Florida, Arthur Ball of Manchester, and Herbert Ball of Manchester. Also surviving are 15 grandchildren: Glenn, Gary, Dallas Jr., Rosie Alice, Jimmy, David, Gloria, Sharon, Carl, Mildred, Buster, Erma, Amanda, Randy, and Belinda, 32 great grandchildren, 43 great great grandchildren, and 3 great great great grandchildren, and one sister: Hazel Hensley of Cincinnati, Ohio.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Cam and Callie Byrd, her husband: James Harvey Ball, her daughter: Mae Paterson, and these brothers and sisters: Gracie Edwards, Alice Poe, Martha Fields, John D. Byrd, Charlie Byrd, and Owen Byrd.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Ball Cemetery Fund at the 1st National Bank in Manchester.

An Eastern Service will be held on Saturday, July 10th, at 12 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel, Funeral Service will follow at 1 PM with Mitchell Ball and Rev. Virgil Ball will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Ball Cemetery in the Ball Road Community on Sextons Creek.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 10th, after 11 A. M. at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

Rominger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
