Mrs. Edith Hubbard Reid

Mrs. Edith Hubbard Reid, age 82 of River Street in Manchester, passed away Monday, July 12th, 2010 at her home. She was born Wednesday, August 3rd, 1927 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Taylor and Betty Smith Hubbard. She was a retired librarian for the Horse Creek Elementary School and a member of the Manchester Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children: Vernon Reid and wife Jan of Kansas City, Missouri, Robert Reid of Manchester, Jonathan Reid of Crescent City, Florida, and Angela and husband Eric Plictah of Louisville, Kentucky. Also surviving are these grandchildren: Melanie and husband Rick Curry of Louisville, Kentucky, Jason Reid of Kansas City, Missouri, and Aimee and husband Jessie Hicks of Kansas City, Missouri and these great grandchildren whom she loved deeply: Samantha Roark of Manchester, Tristan Curry of Louisville, Tyler Hicks and Jessie Hicks, Jr. of Kansas City, Missouri.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Taylor and Betty Hubbard, 12 brothers and sisters and her husband: Vernon M. Reid.

In Lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to the Manchester Baptist Church.

There will be no public services.
