Mrs. Billie Jean Bowling, age 71 of Elk Creek, passed away Sunday, May 22nd, 2011 at her home. She was born January 3rd, 1940 in the Elk Creek Community. She was a school teacher, a Cumberland College Alumni and a member of the Martin’s Creek Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her mother: America Lipps Jenkins and her husband: Charles Bowling.
She is survived by her sons: Michael Wayne Bowling of Elk Creek, and Charles Douglas Bowling of Elk Creek. Also surviving are these grandchildren: Michael Wayne Bowling, II, Charla K. Bowling, John Samuel Bowling, and Monica Jean Bowling, and 2 special family members: Martha Joyce Smith and Mossie Thompson.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Billie Jean Bowling will be Thursday, May 26th, 2011 at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Billy Shaun Thompson, Rev. Shirley Joe Smith, and Rev. Carl Henson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Lipps Cemetery in the Elk Creek Community.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 25th, after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
Rominger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
