Mr. Sam B. Rowland

Mr. Sam B. Rowland, age 82 of Town Branch Road in Manchester, passed away Saturday, September 25th, 2010 at his home. He was born January 24th, 1928 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Fred and Cleo Hoskins Rowland. He was retired from the Kentucky Department of Highways, a member of the Zion Baptist Church, a veteran of the U. S. Army, a member of the Clay Masonic Lodge, and Gideons International.

He is survived by his wife: Venus Rowland of Town Branch, his children: Carol Woods and husband Dick of Manchester, Glenn Rowland and his wife: Gladene of Manchester, and Teresa Lynn Young and her husband Anthony of Manchester. Also surviving are the following grandchildren: Jeffrey Glenn Woods, Judy Lynn Woods, Bradley Glenn Rowland, Amy Nicole Rowland Nolan, Anthony Matthew Young, Ryan Glenn Young, and Samantha Laura Young, and 6 great grandchildren: Dillon Woods, Hannah Woods, Lydia Woods, Logan Gabbard, Gracie Gabbard, and Ava Drae Nolan, and these brothers and sister: Suda Laura Brown of Eddyville, Kentucky, Ted Rowland of Richmond, Virginia, and Franklin Rowland of Manchester, Kentucky.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Fred and Cleo Rowland, and 7 brothers and sisters.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Gideons International.

Funeral Services for Mr. Sam B. Rowland will be Wednesday, September 29th, 2010 at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charlie Hubbard and Rev. Carl Allen will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 28th, after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
