Mr. Julian Lamar Cooke

Mr. Julian Lamar Cooke, age 82 of Midway, Kentucky, passed away Monday, December 20th, 2010 at the Veterans Hospital on Cooper Drive in Lexington, Kentucky after a long illness. He was born August 7th, 1928 in Pineville, Kentucky to the union of Pleasant Tipton Cooke and Lillian Mae Greene Cooke. He was a businessman, a regional manager in the coal industry, and a veteran of World War II where he served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years: Cora Ella Hensley Cooke of Midway, Kentucky, his daughters: Cheryl Taylor and her husband Bobby of Lexington, and Sandra Cooke of Midway. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren: Erin Richard and husband Mat, Casey Kerris and husband Mark, Cameron Taylor and Cody Taylor.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Julian's name to the Lexington VA Medical Center, General Purpose Fund (GP #59) and mailed to Voluntary Service (135-CD)/VA Medical Center/1101 Veteran's Drive/Lexington, KY 40502-2236.

Funeral Services for Mr. Julian Lamar Cooke will be Thursday, December 23rd, 2010 at 11 AM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Greg Farmer will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 22nd, from 6 PM until 9 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
