Mr. Jim Cheek, age 90 of Hooker Road in Manchester, passed away Tuesday, October 19th, 2010 at the Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was born January 4th, 1920 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Bill and Ann Cheek. He was retired from the Clay County Board of Education, a member of the Little Goose Baptist Church, and a veteran of World War II where he served in the United States Army.
He is survived by his sons: Darryl Cheek and wife Shannon of Manchester, and Steven Cheek and wife Richelle of Manchester. Also surviving are these grandchildren: Darryl Wayne, Jr., Cameron Suede, Caden Wayne, McKenzie Davis, and Keaton Cheek, 1 brother: Walter Cheek of London and one sister: Lou Annie Jarvis of Little Goose.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Bill and Ann Cheek, his wife: Ollie Pearl, his brother: Harrison Cheek, and his sister: Liz Cheek.
Funeral Services for Mr. Jim Cheek will be Thursday, October 21st, 2010 at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charlie Hubbard and Rev. Carl Allen will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Lacey Abner Cemetery in the Little Goose Community.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 20th, after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
