Mr. Hugh Lunsford, age 85 of Manchester, passed away Saturday, August 8th, 2009 at his home. He was born March 24th, 1924 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Robert & Fronia Sams Lunsford. He was a carpenter & a member of the Liberty United Baptist Church.

He is survived by the following children: Peggy Deaton and husband Henry of Burning Springs; Bobbi Smith and husband Monte of Boise, Idaho; Hugh Lunsford, Jr. and wife, Pamela of Laurel Creek; Norma Perrin and husband Pete of Manchester; Jennings Lunsford and wife Debbie of Laurel Creek and Kathryn Lunsford-Brown and husband John of Island Creek; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. Also surviving are these special nephews: Robert Leonard & Henry Morgan, & these special nieces: Dolly, Fronia, Mae Hill, & Martha Sue Roberts.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Robert & Fronia Lunsford, this wife: Effie Lunsford, 1 grandchild: Shane Grubb, his brother: Norman Lunsford, & his sister: Etsie Morgan.

Funeral Services for Mr. Hugh Lunsford will be Tuesday, August 11th, 2009 at 1 PM at the Liberty United Baptist Church. Rev. Chris Roberts & Rev. John Boley will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Lunsford Cemetery in the Laurel Creek Community.

Visitation will be Monday, August 10th, after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

Rominger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
