Mr. Granville Pearl “G.P.” Morgan, age 89 of Manchester, departed this life on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the home of his daughter. He was born on Sunday, October 7, 1923 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Charlie and Neva Webb Morgan. He was a farmer and operated a service station, was a member of the Island Creek Missionary Baptist Church and a veteran of the United States Army where he served in World War II.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his daughters: June Proffitt and her husband Homer, Pat Kornrumpf, and Ella Gail Jones and her husband Frank. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Pam Dubbels and her husband Wayne, Shannon Ball and her husband Darius, Amy Jeffries, Shaunda Moore and Brent Jones, and these great grandchildren: Morgan, Spencer, and Jaxson Dubbels, Darion and Lucas Ball, Joseph Lee and Jackson Johnson, Natalie Moore, and Gunner Jones.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Charlie and Neva Morgan, 4 sisters: Mae Reick, Alene Hargrove, Janice Goodrich, and Furl Myers, and his brother: Paul Webb.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Monday, September 9, 2013 at 2 PM at the Island Creek Missionary Baptist Church. Rev. George Grigsby and Bro. William Hugh Hudson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery in the Burning Springs Community.
The family of Mr. Granville Pearl “G.P.” Morgan will receive friends after 12:30 PM on Monday, September 9, at the Island Creek Missionary Baptist Church.
