Glenn Delbert Woods, age 70 departed this life on Thursday, March 17, 2016 in Waco, Texas. He was born on April 2, 1945 in Oneida, KY to the union of Delbert Woods and Georgia Goforth Woods. He grew up in the Sacker community and graduated from Clay County High School in 1964.

He came to know Jesus at the age of 12 at Youth Haven Bible Camp.

Joined US Army in 1964 and spent 3 years in Germany. Then spent 14 years in the US Army Reserves.

Married Carolyn Pennington November 11, 1967.

Ordained deacon May 2, 1973 at New Zion Baptist Church.

Current member and deacon at First Baptist Church, Camp Wood, TX.

Glenn was a Gideon for 29 years, placing bibles in hotels, schools, and prisons around the world.

Glenn has owned and operated heavy construction equipment, worked on many road, windmill and energy projects in many states for 45 years. But most of all, Glenn is a son of the most high God.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Delbert & Georgia Woods.

He is survived by his wife Carolyn Pennington Woods, his son Darin Woods & wife Janis, daughter Tammy Hughes and husband Bill. Also surviving is his sister Margaret Hensley & husband Bige, 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren as well as many other relatives and friends. And countless sons of the Kingdom of God because Glenn shared the gospel of Jesus everywhere he went.

A visitation of family and friends will be held on Friday March 25th at 6:00pm at New Zion Baptist Church 2296 Sacker Rd. Manchester, KY 40962.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 26th, 2016 at 11:00am at the New Zion Baptist Church 2296 Sacker Rd. Manchester, KY 40962. Bro. William Hugh Hudson will be presiding. Interment will follow in the Woods Cemetery in the Sacker community with Military Honors.

Memorial services will also be held on April 22, 2016 at 3:00pm at First Baptist Church, 813 S. Nueces St. Camp Wood, TX 78833
