Mr. Gilbert Downey

Mr. Gilbert Downey, age 86 of Gregory Branch Road, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2012 at his home. He was born June 2, 1925 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of John and Opal Smith Downey Neeley. He was a truck driver and coal miner.

He is survived by his wife: Marie Hacker Downey, and these brothers and sisters: Charles Doug Downey of Manchester, Herles Downey of Manchester, Orita Jones of Indiana, and Georgia Parks of Cincinnati.

He is preceded in death by his parents: John Downey and Opal Downey Neeley, his sister: Virgie Henson and his brother: Otis Downey.

Funeral Services for Mr. Gilbert Downey will be conducted on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. James Wagers and Rev. George Roberts will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Downey Cemetery in the Hima Community.

Visitation will be on Saturday, March 10, from 6 PM until 9 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
