Mr. George Cotton, age 86 of Big Hickory Road in Manchester, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2012. He was a retired serviceman for Rawlings and Goins Furniture and Appliances, farmer, and a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Lyttleton Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children: Karen Horton and husband Johnny Horton of Sandy Hook, Kentucky, and Dennis Cotton and wife Teri Cotton of Manchester. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Megan Ruth Cotton of Manchester, Kari Grace Cotton-Napier of Louisville, Kentucky, Anthony Horton of Sandy Hook, Brad Horton of Dayton, Ohio, Brett Horton of Sandy Hook, and Tyler Grubbs of Sandy Hook. Also surviving are 5 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews, and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Joan Cotton. He was also preceded in death by his parents: Whitten M. Cotton and Elizabeth Cotton. He was preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters: Henry Roark, Will Roark, Rosey R. Bowling, Zenas Campbell, Jesse Cotton, Harvey “Bush” Cotton, Elbert Cotton, Lodena Cotton, Robert Cotton, A. T. Cotton, and twin sister: Daisy Cotton.
Funeral Services for Mr. George Cotton will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at 2 PM at the Lyttleton Baptist Church. Rev. Doug Odle will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Cotton Bend Cemetery.
Visitation will be Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
