Mr. Ellis Harris, age 89 of School House Branch in Manchester departed this life on Friday, February 26, 2016 at his home. He was born on Wednesday, October 13, 1926 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Thomas and Roxie Broughton Harris. He was a miner, county bridge supervisor, a member of the Happy Hill Holiness Church and a veteran of the 102nd Infantry of the United States Army where he served in Germany.

He leaves to mourn his passing his children: Gary Harris and his wife Fonda of Manchester, Deborah Reid and her husband Danny of Manchester, and Diana Hurt and her husband Thomas of Manchester. Also surviving are the following grandchildren: Amy Lynn Harris Simmons, Christopher Johnson and his wife Betsy, Roy Brandon Harris and his wife Charlotte, Kenneth Bradley Harris, Michael Daniel Reid, Ellis Reid and Hope, Wesley Collins and wife Amy, and Andrew Collins and Michelle, these great grandchildren: Cody Simmons, Corson Johnson, Elijah Johnson, Landon Harris, Chloe Reid, Damon Reid, Wesley Lucas Collins, Brady Micah Collins, Carter Mason Collins, Kason Maverick Collins, and Laney Andrea Michelle Collins and his sister: Mae Napier of Manchester and a host of other nieces, nephews, family and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Thomas and Roxie Harris, his wife: Mary Ellen Marcum Harris, his great granddaughter: Jada Marissa Brylan Harris, and these brothers and sisters: Elmer Harris, Estill Harris, Ledford Harris, Henry Harris, Earl Harris, Graden Harris, Louise Hubbard, and Vernice Bowling.

Funeral Services for Mr. Ellis Harris will be conducted on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Buford Hooker and Rev. Christopher Johnson will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be on Tuesday after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel
