Mr. Delbert Woods, age 93 years, 11 months and 7 days of Gabbards Fork Road in Manchester passed away Monday, February 18, 2013 at the Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was born March 11, 1919 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of James Madison and Lydia Ward Woods. He was a farmer and a former magistrate, a member of the New Zion Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, and a member of the Clay County Fox Hunter Club.
He is survived by his son: Glenn Woods and his wife Carolyn of Mathis, Texas, his daughter: Margaret Hensley and her husband Bige of Gabbards Fork, these grandchildren: Darin Woods, Tammy Estep Hughes, Kim Reid, and Kristy Smith, and the following great grandchildren: Kayla Herring, Brent Estep, Logan and Courtney Woods, Marisa and Kyra Reid, and Nathan and Kaitlyn Smith. Also surviving is one great great granddaughter: Khloe' Herring and his sister: Dorothy Hooker of Sacker.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Matt and Lydia Woods, his wife: Georgia Goforth Woods, and his brothers and sisters: Armon Woods, Laura Adams, Herman Woods, Martha Reid, Chester Woods, and Colonel Woods.
Funeral Services for Mr. Delbert Woods will be conducted on Friday, February 22, at 1 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jay Mathis and Rev. Frank Peters will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Woods Cemetery in the Sacker Community.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 21, after 5 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
