Mr. Darrell Wayne "Roxie" Smith

Mr. Darrell Wayne “Roxie” Smith, age 49 of Goose Rock, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2012 at his home. He was born September 6, 1962 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Charlie Avis and Kathleen Eversole Smith. He was a logger.

He is survived by his children: Gary Lee Smith and his wife Birdie of Manchester, Leslie Darrell May and wife Melinda Sizemore May of Manchester, Patricia Smith of Manchester, and Donna Keen of Manchester, his special nephew: Randy and Sonnie Smith, his great nephew: Brandon Smith, his best friend: Ricky “Slick” Smith, 26 nieces and nephews, and 8 grandchildren: Brandon and Steven Keen, Jeremiah Wagers, McKinley Sizemore, Blake May, Gabby Gray, Peachie Gray, and Chandler Sizemore. Also surviving are these brothers and sisters: Danny Smith and wife Annalou, Billy Wayne Smith, Gary Smith, Terry Smith and wife Sally, Cheryl Depew and husband Vernon, Rosaleen Eversole and husband Stacy, and George Smith and wife Teresa, and his sister-in-law: Vanda Smith.

He is preceded in death by his wife: Clara Smith, his parents: Charlie and Kathleen Smith, his brothers: Troy Smith and his wife Goldie, and Roy C. Smith, and his nephews: Scott and Andy Smith.

Funeral Services for Mr. Darrell Wayne “Roxie” Smith will be Monday, April 9th, at 2 PM at the Mud Lick Church of the Brethren. Rev. Charles Eversole and Roy Allen Eversole will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Smith Cemetery in the John’s Branch Community.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 8, after 6 PM at the Mud Lick Church of the Brethren.
