Mr. Charles Lynn Smith, age 48 of Panama City Beach, Florida, formerly of Manchester, passed away Saturday, July 21, 2012 in Panama City Beach, Florida. He was born October 6, 1963 in Jamestown, New York to the union of John Smith, Sr. and Erma Lucille Hoitink Smith. He was a member of the Church of God Worship Center and he worked at a computer service manager for the federal prisons.
He is survived by his wife: Carolyn Spurlock Smith of Panama City Beach, Florida, his son: Charles Bradley Smith and his wife Kisha of Manchester, Kentucky, his daughter: Amy Jo Gabel and her husband Chris of Richmond, Kentucky, 3 grandchildren: Bryce and AnnaBeth Smith, and Nathan Gabel. He is also survived by his parents: John and Erma Smith of Flatgap, Kentucky, his mother-in-law: Barbara Spurlock of Oneida, Kentucky, and these brothers and sister: John Smith, Jr. and his wife Juanita of Indiana, Randy Smith and his wife Cookie of Lexington, Kentucky, and Lori Underwood and her husband Harold of Flatgap, Kentucky, these brothers-in-law and their families: Roy Lyndon and Charlene Spurlock, Jay and Jill Spurlock, Jamie and Sally Spurlock, Ron and Kisha Spurlock, and Robert Preston Spurlock, and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
He is preceded in death by his father-in-law: Roy Spurlock, his grandparents: Harold and Myrtle Hoitink, and Frederick and Agnes Smith, and his grandparents-in-law: Robert and Alice Spurlock and Iree and Bascum Bowling.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 1 PM at the Church of God Worship Center in the Laurel Creek Community. Rev. Joey Burns, Rev. Brad Stevens, and Rev. Anthony Lovett will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Irvin Hill Cemetery in the Oneida Community.
Visitation will be Friday, July 27, from 6 PM until 11 PM at the Church of God Worship Center.
