Mossie Mitchell Smith

Mossie Mitchell Smith was born on Billy’s Branch in Manchester Kentucky on April 03rd 1938 to Steve Mitchell and Anna Lee Wagers Mitchell.

She is preceded in death by her parents Steve and Anna Lee Mitchell, her siblings Bernice Mitchell, Marie Mitchell, Georgia Gray, Donald Mitchell, Jessie Mitchell, Roy Mitchell, and her great grandson Trevor Smith. 

She is survived by the following siblings: Carl Dean “Nig” Mitchell, Lena “Jill” Stone, Nancy Woods, and Bernett Holland. Her children Wayne Smith and wife Judy, her daughter Jackie Hibbard, and husband Tommy, and her daughter Joyce Bowling, and husband Dennis. Her grandchildren Sabrina Michelle Smith, Dennis Jonathan Bowling, Bradford Wayne Smith, Bethany Gail Brock, Megan LeeAnn Bowling and her great grandchildren, Jozie RoxAnna Daniel, Tinnley Dean Bowling, Cody Smith, Noah Brock, Alexa Bowling, Kyler Smith, John Maddox Brock, Taylor Smith, and Jonah Bowling as well as a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends. 

Mossie was a member of the Garrard Holiness Church. She was known for her smile, friendly disposition, laughter, love for Christmas, creative sewing skills, her strength and hard work ethics, and her faith in Jesus Christ. She made friends wherever she went and always had time to stop and talk. She blessed the lives of countless people and continued touching lives and witnessing to them, even days before her passing. Mossie, will be missed by her family and all those who knew and loved her. Until we meet again in Heaven.

Funeral Services for Mossie Smith will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024 at 1:00 P. M. at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Tess Lipps, Rev. Tommy Hibbard and Rev. Gary Harris will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held on Thursday after 12:00 P. M. at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
