Mrs. Maxie Ella Rice, age 94 of Brushy Branch Road in Manchester, passed away Sunday, January 11th, 2009 at the Laurel Creek Health Care Center. She was born April 16th, 1914 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of Robert & Amanda Wilson Murray. She was a homemaker & a member of the Burning Springs Church of God.

She is survived by these children: Hazel Marie Combs & husband Rudolph of Manchester, J. B. Rice & wife Brenda of Manchester, & Dorothy Jean “Buck” Rice of Manchester. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren: Mike Combs & his wife Wanda, Jeff Combs & his wife Linda, Virgella Robinson & her husband Jason, & Anthony Combs. 7 Great Grandchildren, 2 Great Great Grandchildren & these brothers & sisters survive: Zola Fields of Fogertown, Vida Thompson of Burning Springs, Georgia Deaton of London, Bobbie Colwell of Indiana, & Bill Murray of Kingston, Kentucky.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Robert & Amanda Murray, her husband: Virgil Rice, & these brothers & sisters: Arthur Murray, Dallas Murray, Sam Murray, Hobert Murray, Elva Buttery, & her twin sister: Mary Rice.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Maxie Ella Rice will be Wednesday, January 14th, 2009 at 11 AM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Benny Fields & Rev. Jeff Combs will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery in the Burning Springs Community.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 13th, after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.

Rominger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
