Mrs. Jessie Mae Marcum Bishop Carson, age 92 of Town Branch Road in Manchester, Kentucky passed away Thursday, May 7th, 2009 at her home. She was born August 14th, 1916 in Clay County, Kentucky to the union of William “Mutt” & Bernice White Marcum. She was a homemaker & a member of the Manchester Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her children: William Hugh Bishop & wife Wilma of Manchester, Kentucky, Georgia Isabell Rachelson of Boca Raton, Florida, & Clay Massey Bishop, Jr. & wife Shirley of Manchester, Kentucky. Also surviving are the following grandchildren: Amanda Clay Robbins & husband Bill Mack, Jane Massey Bishop, Major Amy Ann Bishop, Grady Hugh Bishop & wife Mary, Haley Elizabeth Bishop, Jenny Lynn Bishop, & Clay Massey Bishop, III, & these great grandchildren: Jessie Mack, Brittany Ann Robbins, William Grady Bishop, Skyler Elizabeth Bishop, & Billy Clay Bishop.
She is preceded in death by her husbands: Clay M. Bishop, Sr. & Dr. W.O. Carson, & her grandson: William Bruce Bishop.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Christian Appalachian Project.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Jessie Mae Marcum Bishop Carson will be Sunday, May 10th, at 3 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Joey Burns will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be Sunday, May 10th, after 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
Rominger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
