Donald Earl Gicker

Donald Earl Gicker, age 81, of Springboro passed away on Friday, September 6, 2024, at Kettering Hospital Main Campus. He was born in Reading, Pennsylvania on February 7, 1943, the son of the late Earl B. and Hilda (Gearhart) Gicker. 

 

Donald is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Fonda K. (Peters) Gicker; three sons, Jack (Sondra) Zellers, Jason (Stephanie J.) Zellers, Jeremie (Amy) Zellers; two sisters, Rita (Mike) Snyder, Gloria (Richard) Jones; seven grandchildren, Jessica Love Zellers, Jack Lee Zellers,III, Zachary James Zellers, Grace Mai Zellers, Mason Ellis Zellers, Chelsea Nicole Huddleson, Blake Danie Zellers: six great grandchildren, Audrey Marie Zellers, Grayson James Zellers, Axton Zellers, Remington, Rose Leigh and Raiden Huddleson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was retired from N.C.R. after 44 years of service, served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was a member of the Newspring Church in Springboro. Donald had previously volunteered with the Reading, PA Fire Department and had donated 97 pints of blood. He was truly a devoted family man, who put his family first and will be loved and missed by all who knew him.

 

Celebration of Life services will be held 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 20, 2024, at the Newspring Church 1150 South Main Street, Springboro with Pastor Shannon Wooten officiating. The family will receive visitors at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday. Graveside services and interment will be held 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Peter's Family Cemetery in Manchester, Kentucky.
