Mr. Daugh Kennon “Doug” White, age 86 of Manchester departed this life on Tuesday, December 25, 2018 surrounded by his family at the Manchester Memorial Hospital. He was born on Thursday, December 22, 1932 in Manchester, Kentucky to the union of Joseph Burchell and Gladys Langdon White. He was a retired businessman and co-owner and operator of White Chevrolet, he was a member of the Manchester Baptist Church, former Mayor of Manchester where he served for 28 years as well as a United States Army Veteran where he served during the Korean Conflict.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife Gail Cornett White, his daughters: Pam Ryser and her husband Bo and Karen Lea Grubb and her husband Butch, his sons: Daugh Kennon White, II and his wife Wanda and Joseph Cornett White and his wife Beth. Also surviving are his grandchildren: Rocky Ryser and his wife Leslie, Liza Ryser Joyner and her husband Lucas, Bo Ryser Kleman and her husband Adam, Dusty Grubb, Jennilea Gail Grubb Huntington and her husband Rob, Dr. Jodi Grubb Wilder and her husband Dr. Joey, Kendilynn Elizabeth Gail White Madden and her husband Justin, Daugh Kennon White, III “Tre” and his wife Caitlin Bishop White, Joseph Crawford White and William Douglas White, he was affectionately known as Papa Doug to his great grandchildren: Lucy Lee, Lily Langdon, Ryser Anne, Julia Joyner, Ross Ryser, Journey Kleman, Isaac Huntington, Layla K. Madden, Skylar MiKenna White and Luca S. Madden. He leaves his brother: Jack L. White and his sister: Barbara White Colter and her husband John to mourn his passing.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Joseph Burchell and Gladys White and his sister-in-law: Elizabeth Ann White.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Gideons International or the Horse Creek Elementary Alumni Scholarship.
A celebration for the life of Mr. Doug White will be conducted on Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 2 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Ken Bolin will be presiding. He will be laid to rest in the Manchester Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends and loved ones on Friday evening after 6 PM at the Rominger Funeral Home Chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Rominger Funeral Home.
