Carl "Crawdad" Edward Sizemore

March 25, 1940 — January 6, 2019

Mr. Carl Edward “Crawdad” Sizemore was born on Monday, March 25th, 1940 in Beverly, Kentucky to the union of Brack and Alma Bowling Sizemore. He departed this life on Sunday, January 6, 2019 at the age of 78 years, 9 months and 12 days. Carl was a lifelong resident of Clay County. He loved Clay County and the people he proudly served as County Judge Executive for 16 years as well as those he worked with and for at the City of Manchester, the Manchester Municipal Water Works for 18 years and was instrumental in many projects including the FCI Manchester, the Carl “Crawdad” Sizemore Community Building, the Clay County Ambulance Service as well as new water lines, he was involved with the beginnings of Rawlings-Stinson Park as other endeavors. Carl enjoyed gardening, fishing, and watching sports, especially UK basketball. He also enjoyed his pets who he regularly took on road trips. His greatest pride and joy in life came from his family and spending time with them, especially watching his grandchildren grow up. He enjoyed visiting and talking with friends and was generous beyond measure. He often thought of others before himself. He enjoyed spending time at the Red Bird Mission Community Store with the ladies who became beloved friends. He was saved and dedicated his life to Jesus Christ in 2013 and truly cherished the time spent with his Sizerock Baptist Church family. Those of us who knew and loved Carl will be forever thankful for his life and all he gave. His love, generosity, personality and kindness will be missed beyond measure.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents: Brack and Alma Sizemore, a host of aunts and uncles and two cousins that were as brothers to him: Taylor Bowling and Billy Bowling.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife: Lorene Barnes Sizemore, his son: Billy Edward “Bo” Sizemore of Manchester, his daughter: Kaye Sizemore Deaton and her husband Neal of London, his step-daughter: Pamela Brock and her husband Jeffrey of Sizerock, Kentucky, his grandchildren: Erica Brooke Sizemore of Lexington, Logan Neal Deaton of London, Landon Carlton Deaton of London, Jeffrey Dale “J.
